Rat Rods

So I have to thank my father-in-law for exposing me to the awesome car culture of 'Rat Rods'. They are kind of an anti status symbol. Meant for driving, not for show. This is a whole car culture that is basically a counter-reaction to traditional hot rods and heavily influenced by a rockabilly/greaser/pinup/punk feel. These are classic cars that look crazy. Most of them are unfinished, with just primer paint or totally rusted out. Each one is unique and a lot of them have these fantastic decorations that make them even more wicked. So that's what I focused on for these shots. The bad-assed details that caught my eye.

I love the dead, dried on bugs!

Memaw's Garden

Chloe loves her Memaw's garden. It was cool and windy there this weekend and these images are the best reflection of that.

Mannequin madness

My father-in-law scored a couple of free mannequins and had them hanging out in his shop the last time we were over. I'm so happy I had my camera with me that day because I had a blast shooting these. Mannequins, by the way, make the perfect models...

Greenwood Cemetery

Greenwood cemetery has long been one of my favorite places in Orlando. Sounds weird, I know. But it's this beautiful respite quietly tucked away in the middle of the hustle and bustle that is Orlando. Plus it's the largest and oldest cemetery here, so it's loaded with historical significance.

Trying my hand at HDR

Lake Greenwood in February

So this is my first attempt at HDR (done with 5 shots - 2 up, 2 down). I'm pretty pleased with the result considering it was my first attempt ever.
